On the occasion of World Environment Day, Forum For a Better Hyderabad (FBH) in association with Public Gardens Walkers Association organized an ENVIRONMENT WALK from 7 am to 8.30 am on June 5, 2022 from State Archaeology Museum, Public Gardens, Nampally. The WALK is started with flagged off by JanabGhulamYazdani, Chairman, Public Gardens Walkers Association (PGWA) at State Archaeology Museum, Public Gardens, Nampally and ended at the same place (State Archaeology Museum). The WALK was attended by members of the Public Gardens Walkers Association and Forum, NGOs, Civil Societies Groups, School and College students and others etc.,
MUSI RIVER FRONT WALK-2022

Manikonda Veda Kumar, chairman of the Forum for a Better Hyderabad and urban and regional planner, said that it is the responsibility of everyone to protect the rivers from getting polluted. Forum for a Better Hyderabad in association with WORLD RIVERS DAY, Canada organized jointly with Deccan Heritage Academy and JBRAC the ‘Musi Riverfront Walk’ at the Salar Jung Museum on Sunday (today) to mark THE WORLD RIVER DAY-2022.

On this occasion, while addressing the gathering Shri .M. Vedakumar said that, the Green Challenge Taken up by Shri. Joginapally. Santosh Kumar attained notoriety all over the Nation. He accepted the Green Challenge of Smt. Chetana, IPS, SP of Narayanapet, consequently planting sapling today.
MUSI RIVER FRONT WALK-2019

The “MUSI RIVER FRONT WALK” was organized by the Forum for A Better Hyderabad (FBH) in association with Centre for Deccan Studies, Deccan Heritage Trust, Deccan Academy and CHATRI in coordination with GHMC, on 27th September, 2019. The programme was to commemorate the 111th Anniversary of the Musi River flood occurred on same day, in the year 1908. The programme entailed a marathon walk from City College Gate, Hyderabad alongside the riverbed of Musi – followed by viewing the photo exhibit of the Musi river from its inception, the devastating scenario of the flood and so on.

Forum for a Better Hyderabad Chairman Er. Manikonda Vedakumar said that 115 years have been completed for the devastating Musi Floods that occurred on September 28, 1908 and it remains as the great disaster in the history of Hyderabad. Consequent to this tragedy, enlightened administrators with the help of expert planners had implemented various schemes like drainage system which had made our city an example of modern city planning. On this occasion, Forum for a Better Hyderabad in association with DECCAN HERITAGE ACADEMY, CENTRE FOR DECCAN STUDIES (CDS), JBR ARCHITECTURE COLLEGE, SPA,JNAFAU University and other Civil Society Groups had a MEMORIAL MEET under the GREAT TAMARIND TREE in the park of Osmania General Hospital between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. today the Wednesday 28.9.202.

The FORUM FOR A BETTER HYDERABAD in association with the Centre for Deccan Studies, Deccan Heritage Trust and DECCAN HERITAGE ACADEMY, organised the Annual MEMORIAL AND SOLIDARITY MEET on the 28th September 2021 under the famous tamarind tree in the Osmania General Hospital , Afzal Gunj.
The meeting was to pay homage to the thousands of people of Hyderabad who were washed away by the Musi River flood that took place in September 28th1908 . In its 113th year today.,
Forum for better Hyderabad initiated the Solidarity meet since 2008 to bring forth the significance of conservation and protection of natural resources , preventing urban flooding & sustainable development of city.

Famous poet and journalist Arunsagar has brought a new dimension to Telugu journalism, said TSPSC chairman Ghantachakrapani.
Arunsagar’s awards ceremony was held at Somajiguda Press Club on Thursday to mark Arunsagar’s birthday. Andhrajyothi Editor K Srinivas was awarded the Distinguished Journalist Award and the Distinguished Literary Award for the popular poet Prasen.
METRO RAIL VISIT

The Chairman of Forum for a Better Hyderabad, Mr. Vedakumar Manikonda, accompanied by approximately 30 members from different civil society groups, visited the recently inaugurated routes of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The journey began at L.B. Nagar Metro Station of Corridor 1 and ended at the Hitec City Metro Station of Corridor 3, with a transfer at Ameerpet. A report will be prepared by Forum for a Better Hyderabad containing observations and suggestions for the improvement of the metro rail, which will be submitted to the Managing Director of HMRL.
19th ANNUAL MEET

MEMORIAL MEET

A Memorial Meet was organised at the historic Tamarind Tree within the Osmania Hospital premises to mark the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Musi Floods of 1908 and to pay homage to the thousands of lives that were lost. The event included government officials, prominent environmentalists and school students. The chief guest was Shri. Baba Faisi Uddin, Deputy Mayor of GHMC.
HERITAGE WALK

18th ANNUAL MEET

Forum for a Better Hyderabad organised its 18th Annual meet during the same week as World Environment Day to draw attention to the cause of plastic pollution and a range of other environmental issues. The chief guest at the event was Shri. Vinod Kumar, MP of Karimnagar.
CMS VATAVARAN

CMS Vatavaran, in association with Forum for a Better Hyderabad, organised the CMS Vatavaran Musi River International Festival, the travelling film festival touching on pertinent subjects such as water conservation, environmental awareness and biodiversity conservation. The Film Festival included Shaam-e-Musi, a cultural event intended to draw attention to the plight of the Musi, and Musi Riverfront Walk, a heritage walk along the banks of the river led by Mr. M. Vedakumar.
